Special Poppy Appeal Announcement
About this time of year our attention is drawn to the Remembrance Ceremonies traditionally held in November. The whole Country commemorates those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the two world wars and other occasions when lives have been lost defending our freedom and international security.
But before then, we can celebrate the start of the Hatfield Poppy Appeal especially this year’s launch.
The Poppy Appeal Launch will be on Sat 26th at the Galleria from 1pm to 3pm. But this year we have a special announcement because we have managed to secure JiveSwing to perform for us, something we are immensely proud of.
We have been lucky to get them as they are internationally renown, but they are also local and have shown a real interest to support the local community, and of course the Royal British Legion & the Poppy Appeal.
We will be using the opportunity to sell poppy merchandise as it’s the first day paper poppies are allowed to be worn.
For those that might not know, JiveSwing.Com are currently one of Europe’s leading swing dance teachers and performers of authentic dances such as the 1940s Lindy Hop, 1920’s Charleston, Black Bottom, 1950’s Dances, Blues, Electro-Swing and Authentic Jazz touring at least 40 weeks a year, inspiring and wowing people with their high energy performances, wherever they go.

Pipes & Drums
The procession will start with the traditional Pipes & Drums and procession by the local Dignitaries and Youth Cadet Groups and follow with a scheduled program in which JiveSwing promise to entertain. Come along and be prepared to join in, maybe dress accordingly. There will definitely be enough people there to take photographs so the turn out promises to make it a great occasion.
