Together with the Green Lanes Allotment Association, we held the second of our allotment open days on Saturday. It was great to see so many old and new faces, especially all the curious newcomers looking to get into growing their own greens!
The second open day is always a time for reflection and seeing how far the plots have come. It’s not been easy this summer, with the sun doing its best to scorch us all, but across the site there are some truly impressive plots.
Deputy Mayor of Hatfield, Councillor Peter Costello, came along to hand out some much-deserved awards recognising the efforts of our members. Congratulations to Dave Murphy and Kim Hayes for taking home Best Plot, and to Dan Burns and his family for Best Use of Space!
