Birchwood Leisure Centre Closed for June Refurbishment

Jun 5, 2024 | Recent News | 0 comments

A section of Birchwood Leisure Centre will be undergoing a major refurbishment in June.

In a complete overhaul of the existing toilet facilities at the leisure centre, Hatfield Town Council will be introducing two separate accessible toilets, as well as upgrading the existing ones.

Across the four new rooms, we will be installing new sanitary ware, new ceilings, flooring and up-to-date ventilation systems, to heighten the comfort and convenience for visitors and staff alike.

With the building closed, we are also taking the opportunity to clear, reorganise and repaint areas of the leisure centre.

Due to this work, admittance to the site for much of June will be restricted, with all areas of the building affected for this period. With current plans in place, we hope to begin limited operations from Monday 17th June. We advise customers to follow the councils social media accounts at the links below:

Despite the disruption within the building, Birchwood will again be hosting Stevens Funfair, on the playing fields close to Tesco. The fair will be in operation between Friday 7th and Sunday 16th June.
