Christmas Carol Event

Dec 5, 2023 | Recent News | 0 comments

Cold, dark and drizzly …but plenty of Christmas spirit at Hatfield Town Council’s community Christmas sing-a-long on December 4th. This year, for the first time, Hatfield Town Council has installed a Christmas tree and lights in Coronation Gardens, around the corner from St Luke’s Church on Wellfield Road. The Gardens have fast become a lovely community space for those living and visiting the town centre, providing a place to sit and rest away from the hustle and bustle for a while and with the addition of the tree, there’s a real sense of the Christmas season in the air.

To mark the occasion, Hatfield Town Council Mayor, Cllr Gareth Aicken, was delighted to welcome choirs from Countess Anne and Oakview Primary Schools to sing a few Christmas favourites around the tree; and the children’s beautiful rendition of Away in a Manager, Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer was enough to entice Santa on his sleigh to pay a visit …along with a very cheeky Grinch!

The special community event was rounded off with a joyful rendition of We Wish You A Merry Christmas and some delicious hot chocolate (supplied by Hatfield Town Council’s own elves!).

Thank you to all the children, parents and friends that joined us.

Be sure to catch Santa, the Grinch, and Hatfield Town Council’s elves on one of their stops this December. They will be at Roe Hill Hall on the 5th, Lemsford Village Hall on the 7th and Birchwood Leisure Centre on the 12th of December.
