A Weekend of Reflection: Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday

Nov 13, 2023 | Recent News | 0 comments

Thank you to all those who braved the rain on Sunday 12th November to join us for the Remembrance Sunday march and memorial service.

The Mayor of Hatfield, Councillor Gareth Aicken, was proud and grateful to see Hatfield so well represented during the events of the morning, as hundreds of members of the public joined with representatives of the air and army cadets, scouts and girl guides of all ages.

Thank you to all those who helped facilitate the event and all those who attended.

Armistice Day

Saturday 11th November also saw Hatfield Town Council attend an intimate Armistice Day service, where we assembled at the War Cemetery on the Hatfield Park grounds, adjacent to Great North Road.

During this short service, a service commemorating those who had served in past conflicts and a two minutes silence was observed, along with a wreath laying ceremony.
