University of Hertfordshire: Festival of Ideas

May 22, 2024 | Recent News | 0 comments

The University of Hertfordshire held their Festival of Ideas event on May 17th and 18th, to showcase innovations in (amongst SO many other things) healthcare, sustainable towns, future technology, and virtual reality.

Hatfield Town Council were amongst the exhibitors, as we set up a stall to enable residents, students, and lecturers to come along and engage directly with their local councillors on the issues, concerns, or ideas that they are interested in.

Festival of Ideas Cllr Wise Cllr Aicken

Over the course of both gloriously sunny days, we had the pleasure of speaking to a very wide variety of people and managed to collect a number of ideas and opinions on everything from our parks and open spaces, sustainability, to implementing even more clubs, classes, and fitness sessions at our Birchwood home.

We also heard some great thoughts about recycling, rubbish collection, street maintenance and more, that we’ll be passing onto the relevant departments at Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council.

Festival of Ideas Cllr Asare Cllr Eames Petersen

We’d like to express a big thank you to all of the councillors who came along to spend time at the stall and speak with the people of the University, Hatfield, and beyond, about the many wonderful ideas that they have.
