Hatfield Street Party Grant 2025
Grants Available for Street Parties in Hatfield Parish
to Mark the 80th Anniversary of the Second World War
Hatfield Town Council are making grants available to residents, community groups and not-for-profit organisations wishing to arrange street parties and celebratory events to mark the 80th Anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
With VE Day falling on Thursday 8th May, VJ Day falling on Friday 15th August and a number of other meaningful dates important to different families, communities and organisations, the Town Council is leaving it up to residents to decide when they would like to mark the occasion.
Who Can Apply?
Groups and organisations will be allowed to apply for up to £500 by filling in the downloadable form at the bottom of this page. There are also forms available to collect from reception at Birchwood Leisure Centre. Whilst there are some restrictions on what the funding can be used for (e.g. grant funding cannot be used to purchase alcohol, or with the intention of making a profit) the Town Council is open to how organisers wish to spend the money. When a similar grant scheme was made available during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022, residents and charity groups used the money to fund refreshments, live entertainment, decorations and small mementos.

Opportunity
Hatfield Town Mayor, Cllr Shirley Asare, welcomed the scheme. “This is a great opportunity for the local community to come together and marks this auspicious occasion. I am sure that people of all ages, interest and beliefs will enjoy these events and a big thank you in advance to all the wonderful volunteers and community organisers who make these events possible”.
